The fittings have very good tensile strength (550-750 MPa) and yield strength (240-345 MPa) with very good ductility and toughness. Monel is particularly known for its extreme resistance to corrosion by seawater, acids, and alkalis and its capacity to maintain strength and performance over a high temperature range, thus being applicable for high pressure and temperature uses.
